One month into building a listening night in Toronto

One month into building a listening night in Toronto

One month into building a listening night in Toronto. In real time. In public.

Here's what I've been learning. The highs, and the lows.

Watching strangers become friends. An artist showing up and painting the whole room while the music played. Telling someone the story behind a record and watching them get genuinely curious. Those are the highs.

The low taught me the most about myself. The public isn't what holds me back. I am. One laugh from one table, and my own head did the rest.

One key element I keep coming back to is having a venue that is supportive. 915 Dupont and Gil Masuda have been the bedrock since day one.

If you've been thinking about doing something like this in your own city, this is the post telling you to go for it.

What's something you wish existed in your city that nobody's built yet? Answer that question, and start thinking about doing it.
